Peter Macnee has had a successful 25-year career in telecoms and media. He held several senior executive positions for Millicom International Cellular, including his last role as President of the EMEA group, managing sixteen joint ventures in Russia, The Baltics and Africa. More recently, he joined the Internet revolution and led Europe’s first dot-com public listing in the late ‘90s, followed by a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors.
Pete is happiest playing shinny with his sons on a crispy cold day, and dreams of building a clean energy ski cabin in the Rocky Mountain so he can master skiing the bumps.
Russ has more than 20-years of experience in telecommunications, including 15 years in Latin America. He held a variety of financial positions in Verizon and its predecessor GTE, lastly as Executive Vice President and CFO of Iusacell, a mobile carrier in Mexico. Russ also served as CFO for IT company Intcomex, an IT distribution company in Miami, FL with operations in 12 Latin American and Caribbean markets.
Russ enjoys competing in Florida amateur golf events and traveling with his wife and two sons.
Joel Kades led Virgin Mobile brands across the USA, India and Latin America for the last decade. Previously, he helped shift Samsung's positioning from price to premium brand. Joel started his career in advertising guiding strategy for Philips Electronics, AT&T;, and big packaged goods brands.
Outside of work, Joel runs, lives vicariously through his rock star daughter, obsesses about Duke basketball, and pretends to be a chef.
Jim joined Virgin Mobile Latin America from Sprint, where he owned delivery and operations of all prepaid technology platforms, including Virgin Mobile USA. He brings over a decade of MVNO launch experience.
Jim has an avid interest in fishing and wildlife, as well as a passion for his beloved Sporting Kansas City soccer club.
Jeff Buckwalter spent most of the past twenty years launching mobile service providers in diverse markets. He led Russian Millicom and Qualcomm start-ups in Siberia, St. Petersburg and Moscow, headed up MACH's mobile data clearinghouse business in the Americas, and secured LTE frequencies for AfriMax.
In his free time he enjoys flirting with disaster on a bike or skis and training his new bird dog to hunt.
Catherine worked as an in-house lawyer for the owner/operator of the Atlantis and One&Only; hotel brands. She previously worked at a large law firm in Florida handling securities offerings, M&A;, and financings in the US and Europe and started her career at a large New York law firm handling project financings, debt restructurings, IPOs and other security offerings for U.S. and Latin American clients. She is fluent in Spanish and had an internship on the Supreme Court of Argentina while in law school.
Outside of work, Catherine travels, scuba dives, tries new Miami restaurants, watches college and pro hoops, and spoils her niece and nephew.
